Saturday, Sept. 16, Trapps to Gertrudes Nose located on Mohonk Preserve

Distance: 9.1 Miles Approximate Time: 6 Hours. B-

Please join me hiking to learn the history of the Rock, the Shawangunks,

which was formed 450 million years ago. We begin by hiking along the ridge

with scrub Oak and pitch pine as our companions and openings to beautiful

vistas. We will pass by the area used for the annual Hawk Watch. There will

be many viewpoints along the trail. We will hike to the top of Millbrook

Mountain as we travel to Gertrudes Nose and return. You will need clothing

appropriate for conditions along with good boots,

plenty of water, snack and a lunch. Meet at 8:00 AM in the back of Dunkin

Donuts parking lot, RT 9, Poughkeepsie. Contact leader for registration by
