Outing Leader(s)
- is an ADK member
- ensures trip profile is communicated to all
participants and their guardians (trip type, level of difficulty, skills
required, equipment/clothing required, itinerary,
return times, contact person)
- ensures at least one adult participant has
First Aid training (required for outings that are greater than
one hour from professional health care)
- carries recommended First Aid kit (see attachment)
- completes health form and communicates any
health restrictions to other leaders
- notifies ADK if a trip injury occurs using
'Accident Report Form'
- ensures outing is published in ADK chapter
newsletter and/or Web site
- does not receive any fee for leading trip
- carries completed parental permission and
health forms for each participant at all
times during the trip
- ensures safety and emergency procedures are
established and communicated to participants
at the beginning of the trip and as required
- communicates trip plan with adult participants
to ensure compliance with these policies
- conducts trip planning and/or training meeting
with participants if needed
- develops contingency plan for bad weather
or medical emergency during trip and communicates
to all adult participants
- Ensure commitment fee is returned to students
before start of trip
