Breakfree Outing Planning Guide

The following policies and procedures are intended to promote a safe environment for Breakfree participants and to limit the risks and liabilities associated with Breakfree outings. If an outing is unable to comply with the stated policies, the Breakfree Outing committee must be notified for review.
 
Outing Planning Guide - Objectives
Provide policies and procedures for outing leaders that ensure;
  • Leader and student qualifications
  • Outing plan and schedule are reasonable
  • Equipment requirements for leaders and students are known
  • Outing Safety guidelines are met
  • Outing risks can be managed
  • Emergency procedures are provided
  • Conformance to ADK policies

Procedures will be included for the planning of the following outing categories
  • Canoe outings
  • Dayhikes
  • Backpack outings
  • Winter dayhikes and overnight outings
  • Caving outings
